Philadelphia Eagles -3, total 55

Bradford Looking to Start Fast

The Eagles new quarterback is Sam Bradford who has yet to show he can stay healthy. When Bradford is on the field he can be very good and the Eagles offense was dynamic in the preseason. Bradford will have some exciting weapons on offense around him including running back DeMarco Murray who comes over from Dallas and rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor. The key for the Eagles will be protecting Bradford so that they don’t have to put in backup Mark Sanchez. "I think this is the best we've looked since Chip got here (in 2013), in the preseason," Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters said.

Falcons Turn to Quinn

The Falcons have a new head coach in Dan Quinn who was the coordinator of Seattle’s great defense. The Falcons should be improved under Quinn and with the additions of first-round pick Vic Beasley, linebacker Justin Durant and Adrian Clayborn. "It's a work in progress," cornerback Desmond Trufant said. "But I like where we're going." The defense needs to at least slow down the Eagles in this game or the Falcons could get blown out in their home opener.

Game Trends

The Falcons have won the last two meetings in 2011 and 2012. The Eagles are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Monday games. The Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 1. The Falcons are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the NFC. The Over is 4-0 in the Eagles last 4 Monday games. The Over is 4-1 in the Eagles last 5 road games. The Over is 4-1 in the Falcons last 5 Monday games. The Under is 9-3 in the Falcons last 12 games overall. The Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Atlanta.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
