Amsterdam Online Gambling Affiliate Meeting Concerns

A "closed doors" meeting involving a few dozen online gambling affiliate operators during Amsterdam's Casino Affiliate Convention (www.cac2009.com) raised a few questions, primarily the involvement of Micrograming, which was looking to take leadership in initiatives that were seen as vital for affiliate marketing growth.

"We cannot have just one group overseeing this," was the concern issued by a number of affiliate managers speaking to Gambling911.com under anonymity late Sunday night following the first meeting.

Affiliate managers were meeting primarily out of concern that Casino Affiliate Programs (CAP) had been permitted to "control" and sometimes "blacklist" these groups.  One of the chief concerns of this meeting dealt with prices charged to affiliates in regard to attending future conferences.

One issue raised outside this meeting was that Microgaming was still licensing a "rogue" online casino group, Grand Prive, which a few months back decided to cut off their affiliate ad partners.

"Having Microgaming oversee our initiatives won't work," said one affiliate manager.  He told Gambling911.com that those in attendance remained silent when the concept was brought up during the meeting.

Some have since protested ideas that an online casino group would oversee future initiatives.

"We need to have a panel of individuals involved for this to work," said another manager.

Gambling911.com is in Amsterdam covering CAC2009 but was not permitted inside the "closed door" meeting.  Affiliate managers later reported back to us on what had been discussed, however.
