Florida Gators -2

Volunteers Ready to End the Streak

This year’s Tennessee team seems to be a confident bunch and one that will finally break the streak against Florida. “I believe our players expect to win every time they stop out onto the football field,” head coach Butch Jones said. Last season the Volunteers blew a 9-point lead in the fourth quarter and lost 10-9. “They understand what’s at stake, understand the importance of the game,” Jones said. “Now (if) you put all this undue pressure on them, you can be fatigued mentally. We have to be mentally fresh, mentally alert, going to a hostile environment playing a top-quality upper-echelon opponent in our conference.’

Florida Gators 3-0 SU, 2-1 ATS

The Gators are unbeaten but they have not been that impressive with wins against weak teams in New Mexico State and East Carolina and just a five-point win against Kentucky last week. It is hard to take too much out of the Florida statistics for the season simply because the Gators haven’t played a good team yet. They did cover last week against Kentucky but the 14-9 win was ugly.
