Bookies Worst Nightmare October 25: Atlanta Falcons 93 Percent Backing

It’s interesting to note that the bookies were most exposed to an Atlanta Falcons cover of -5.5 vs. the Titans with none of the other games expected to cause much damage Sunday afternoon.  Atlanta may have won but they failed to cover.

It was a 3 point Falcons victory.  Great for Atlanta and their fans, terrible for bettors.

“Atlanta was seeing between 87 percent and 93 percent of the backing in this game depending on the book,” noted Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “Tennessee failing to cover will have a crippling effect on the sportsbooks Sunday."

The most wagered on game Sunday was the Jets vs. Patriots but with action pretty well balanced between the two teams.

Dave Mason of BetOnline also reported that some decent action had been on the Colts covering against a New Orleans team that ultimately won outright on the road.

"Public on Chargers (72%) vs Raiders (+3.5) and Giants (57%) vs Cowboys (+3)," he noted.

Oakland enjoyed a huge win over San Diego late Sunday, resulting in another celebration by the books.

Sunday night’s game between the Eagles and Panthers has Carolina getting close to 70% of the action at -3.  Books will be rooting hard for an Eagles cover.

The sportsbooks entered Sunday on a high note after public favorite Utah got crushed by USC Saturday night.

There is more exposure to be had Monday night as Arizona was seeing between 65% and 70% of the action versus Baltimore.  The line on this game was -9.
