Bookies made out well in Week 9 of the NFL despite a New England cover with 75 percent of the backing.

New England had to cover a rather lofty number of 14 and managed to win by 17.  Most books had the Patriots as the single most wagered on side.

Others had Green Bay, who not only failed to cover, they lost outright versus Carolina.

Another failed cover that was attracting plenty of betting action: Pittsburgh in their home game against Oakland.  Pittsburgh pulled off the win in the final seconds but only by a field goal.  The Steelers came into this game as a -5 home favorite.

Bookies made out especially well with Alabama crushing LSU in Saturday’s College Football action.
