FanDuel Going After New York Attorney General Hard: Nets Back Company

The world’s largest Daily Fantasy Sports company, FanDuel, has come out swinging against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s assertion that Daily Fantasy Sports is illegal gambling in disguise.  He has ordered both FanDuel and DraftKings to cease taking bets from New York residents.  As of late Thursday, both continue to do so.

Earlier in the day, FanDuel tweeted: "If politicians are going to tell you that you can't play fantasy sports, what will they tell you next?"

So far, FanDuel has not-so-subtly implied that Schneiderman is nothing more than a media whore seeking national attention.  Today, their tweet seems to indicate they believe he is abusing his power.

FanDuel has begun to push the hashtag #FantasyForAll.

On Thursday, the Brooklyn Nets, announced they will continue to partner with FanDuel despite the Attorney General’s proclamation this past Tuesday.

“FanDuel’s enormous popularity has helped to increase fan engagement as a sponsor of the Brooklyn Nets. We appreciate our on-going relationship with FanDuel and the company’s commitment to our organization. As we monitor the situation regarding daily fantasy sports, we are confident FanDuel will continue to follow all applicable laws,” Brett Yormark of the New York Post wrote.
