The online poker blog Pokerati featured a good piece about the "Bad Guys of Poker" - and we're not talking about the "David William I'm Too Cool To Introduce Myself To You" kinda bad guys but rather those murderers and thieves.

Not that 2006 World Series of Poker winner, Jamie Gold, necessarily fits into any of these categories.  He is mentioned among the "Reformed Reputations" however along with Justin Bonomo and Dutch Boyd.

Russ Hamilton is listed.  He's the notorious alleged poker cheat spotlighted in a recent 60 Minutes piece.

When it comes to poker bad guys you can't get much worse than Ernie Scherer III.  He's accused of brutally murdering his own parents.  Alameda, California law enforcement at the time told Gambling911.com that Scherer III was a prime suspect because he owed substantial "gambling debts".  Shortly after the murders, the son showed up at the World Series of Poker.  Ideal place to shoot to after your parents have just been killed.

Pokerati gives James McDaniel an "honorable mention".

"This Dallas poker room operator was convicted of killing an ex-cop, engaged in collusion in Oklahoma (my personal observation and unproven accusation), and is currently on trial for supplying drugs to one of his railbirds who ended up OD'd-dead in a portable toilet."
