Tiger Woods US Masters Odds

A number of online sportsbooks have listed updated odds on Tiger Woods winning the 2009 US Masters.

Tiger shot a two-under 70, missed a short birdie putt at the 17th and bogeyed the 18th.

Oddsmakers were not phased, however.

"It's the fourth time Tiger Woods has opened with a 70 and every time he's done so, he's won," said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

With this in mind, oddsmakers have shortened odds on Tiger Woods winning the 2009 US Masters.  Coming into Thursday, Woods was listed just under 2/1 odds or around +175 at most online sportsbooks.  Heading into Friday he's at +140 across the board.  (see odds at Bookmaker.com)

"Should Tiger Woods look a little more rusty on Friday, expect the odds to get longer beyond 2/1 or +200," says Shapiro.  "I would say the best odds on Woods could come Friday evening into Saturday morning unless he really comes on strong Friday afternoon.  Then he has two days to get back in the thick of things and past history tells us that he can."

"You know, it's a long week and you've just got to be patient, stay with it," he said. "It's not like I haven't been in this position before. Just kind of hang in there."

Leading the pack at the conclusion of Thursday's play was Chad Campbell, for whom Bookmaker.com now listed with +1400 odds.   The payout would be $1400 for every $100 bet should he hold on to the lead.  Jim Furyk was in 2nd place with odds of +1000.
