Calvin Johnson Tells Lions Coach He’s Set to Retire Before Start of 2016 Season - There hasn’t yet been an announcement, but news Sunday makes it look more likely that Calvin Johnson will retire before the 2016 season.  According to ESPN, Johnson told his family 2015 would be his final year, and he told coach Jim Caldwell the same thing after the season ended.

Following a horrible 1-7 start to the season, Detroit improved to close out 2015

7-9, winning six of their last eight games.  The Lions were at 50-1 odds of winning Super Bowl 51.
