Now that the 2009 US Masters Golf Tournament is history, some lucky folks are going to be a whole lot richer thanks to Angel Cabrera.  The Argentine golfer paid out a whopping $14,000 for every $100 bet.  One of the biggest payouts for online gamblers in the history of golf.

"Major golf tournaments are increasingly growing in popularity when it comes to betting," acknowledged Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.  "This latest payout will help fuel the activity even more."

Sunday's US Masters ended in a three-man sudden death tie that concluded with the Cabrera win.

"The chances of some people having bet on Cabrera is pretty good as he was a well established name and has a solid following, especially in Argentina," said O'Brien.

Angel Cabrera primarily plays on the European Tour.  He is the first Argentine to win either the Masters or the US Open.  He is also the first Argentine to win more than one major title away from his country.

Cabrera won The Masters in 2009, beating Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell in a play-off on the second hole. On the first playoff hole, the 18th, Cabrera missed right of the fairway landing it directly behind a tree. On an amazing second shot, the ball hit a tree about 30 yards ahead and settled in the center of the fairway. He and Perry both got up and down for par, while Campbell missed his par putt and was eliminated. On the second playoff hole, the 10th, Cabrera made par to defeat Perry, becoming the first Argentine to win the Masters. He also became the first player ever to win a major using a belly putter.
