Odds to Win the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am

The TOUR returns to California this week with the golfers set to play the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The Waste Management Phoenix Open was a fun one to watch and the golfers will now try to find a way to top that with a fantastic tournament this weekend. Hideki Matsuyma edged out Rickie Fowler in a playoff at least week’s event and both players will be taking a much-needed break by sitting out this event.
While it’s a bummer that two of the better golfers on TOUR won’t be in the field this weekend, it’s not all bad. Both Jason Day and Jordan Spieth will be playing when this tournament begins Thursday and that alone makes it worth a watch.
One guy that will be happy to be back here is Brandt Snedeker. Snedeker is the defending champion after shooting a 22-under in 2015. It was his second time winning this tournament and he also set the record for the best score ever shot in this event.
Another player in this field that will be itching to get back is Phil Mickelson. Mickelson has won this event four times (1998, 2005, 2007, 2012) and has a great shot to earn his fifth win on Sunday. Let’s now take a look at some of the guys who just may be holding a trophy when this is all over:
Dustin Johnson (+800) - Johnson has had a ton of success at this tournament in the past, coming away with a victory in 2009 and again in 2010. He was dominant in the 2009 event, winning by four strokes over runner-up Mike Weir. Johnson was also the runner-up at this tournament in 2014. He’ll be looking to capture that magic again when he hits the course on Thursday. Johnson struggled his last time out, shooting a two-over at the Farmers Insurance Open in late January. He has, however, had plenty of time to rest and should be feeling good coming into this event. At these odds, Johnson is a great choice to win at an event where he is clearly very comfortable.
Phil Mickelson (+2200) - As mentioned earlier, Mickelson has already won this tournament four times in his career. He is extremely confident when he steps foot on this course and he will certainly be a threat to win this weekend. Not only has Mickelson played well here in the past, but he is also coming into this tournament in solid form. Mickelson shot an eight-under at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last week and that was good for a t-11th place finish. With Mickelson swinging the club well, he’s an excellent pick to win at an event he has dominated in his career. His 22-to-1 odds are far too favorable to pass up.
Danny Lee (+5000) - Lee has had an up and down season, but he is coming off of a fantastic outing at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Lee shot an 11-under and finished in fourth place at that one. It should really build his confidence and have him feeling good heading into Thursday. One thing he’ll have to shake off is his poor fourth round in last week’s event. Lee held a three-stroke lead at one point and he can’t let that effect him coming into this tournament. There was a lot of good to take away from his performance and that is what he’ll need to focus on heading into Thursday.
Nick Watney (+8000) - Watney is somebody to consider if you’re looking for a dark horse to win this event. He shot a 19-under at this tournament in 2015, coming in second behind Snedeker. That 19-under would have been good for a victory in the previous seven tournaments, but he just happened to have run into a hot golfer last year. Look for him to come back strong from two missed cuts in the past two tournaments this season by getting himself to the top of the leaderboard at a course he is very comfortable with. At +8000, he’s worth a unit and crazier things have certainly happened.
