In case you were wondering, you did read the “free-to-enter” part of the headline correctly. The Freebuy Super Series is back at Americas Cardroom for the third time and set to play from February 26th through March 6th, 2016.
If you’ve never heard of a Freebuy tournament, let me give you the skinny. We (Americas Cardroom) created a new type of tournament last year that combines a freeroll and rebuy/add-on tournaments into one. You receive your starting stack for free, and then have the option to rebuy or add-on for real money.
Any player with an Americas Cardroom account is eligible to play in the series regardless if you’ve ever made a deposit or not. Upon registration and the tournament beginning, you receive a 1,000 chip starting stack. You may then rebuy for 2,500 chips during the two-hour late registration period. Three hours into the tournament, you get an add-on option for 10,000 more chips.
The series has a total of 57 events with rebuy/add-on prices ranging from as little as a penny up to $20. The series culminates with a massive $20,000 Main Event on March 6th at 5:30pm ET.
We’ve already successfully hosted two of these series and they’re wildly popular with our players. After all, who doesn’t enjoy free shots at cash? There’s even more added value in the series as many of the events overlay, some huge. Last time we ran the series, all overlays combined for over $70,000.
It gets even better. We’ve also created a Freebuy Super Series III cash leaderboard where the top 25 finishers for the entire series receive cash prizes. First place is $500.
