The Patriots were still favored to win the 2017 Super Bowl at 9-1 odds.  Arizona had odds of 17-1.  The Cardinals had opened at 10-1 odds and Gambling911.com anticipates the price coming back down towards that number with this news.

The 26-year-old Jones recorded a career-high 12.5 sacks last season and had a total of 36 sacks in 55 career games with the Patriots last season.

Jones alluded to the trade Tuesday afternoon in a tweet acknowledging the Cardinals fanbase, known as the "Birdgang."

The Cards traded away Jonathan Cooper and a second round Draft pick as part of the deal.
