MLB Betting Preview
Baltimore Orioles (6-3) at Boston Red Sox (3-6)
Friday, 7:10 pm Eastern

SBG Global Opening Line: Red Sox -  147 ,  Total  9.5 Flat

The Baltimore Orioles have won each of their three series this season against New York, Tampa Bay and Texas.  Keeping that record intact will be a large task as they open up a series in Boston on Friday.  The Orioles lost seven of the nine games last year at Boston and they gave up 7.1 runs per game in the process.

SBG Global reports that early Hockey betting has the public taking  Red Sox at Home.

The one pitcher that might be able to hold the Red Sox in check is Jeremy Guthrie.  He is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA this season.  Last year he was 1-2 with a 4.13 ERA in four starts against the Red Sox. He is 0-1 with a 3.93 ERA in three career starts in Boston.

The Red Sox are opening a nine-game homestand on Friday and they will look to carry the momentum from Wednesday's win into the series against Baltimore.  Tim Wakefield was superb, giving the bullpen a break on Wednesday. The Red Sox scored 13 runs in the last two games against Oakland and that bodes well for them in this series against Baltimore.  Brad Penny gets the start on Friday.  He pitched six innings in his season debut, allowing three runs in a 5-4 Boston win over the Angles.

Here are the Hockey betting stats for Friday's game. The Orioles are 21-44 in their last 65 games as an underdog. The Orioles are 8-20 in their last 28 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Orioles are 15-40 in their last 55 vs. the American League East. The Orioles are 3-12 in their last 15 road games.

The Orioles are 3-7 in Guthrie's last 10 starts vs. the American League East.

The Orioles are 6-23 in the last 29 meetings in Boston.

The Red Sox are 67-31 in their last 98 games as a home favorite. The Red Sox are 2-6 in their last 8 overall.

SBG Global Current Line: Red Sox -  143 ,  Total  10 Flat

The Over is 4-0 in the Orioles last 4 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Over is 5-2 in the Orioles last 7 vs. the American League East. The Over is 36-16-2 in the Orioles last 54 road games. The Over is 6-1 in Guthrie's last 7 starts as a road underdog.

The Over is 5-0 in the Red Sox last 5 overall. The Under is 4-1 in the Red Sox last 5 vs. the American League East. The Over is 4-1-2 in Guthrie's last 7 starts vs. the Red Sox.
