Leicester City has left bookmakers stunned after officially winning the 2016 Premier League title, their first in club history. They opened at 5000-1 odds, longer than the price given to Elvis coming back to life.

Leicester’s title win comes even though they did not play Monday. It was a result of the Tottenham Hot Spur drawing 2-2 with Chelsea.

Leicester's 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday had meant Tottenham needed to win its remaining three games to have any chance of a first league title since 1961.

Some bookmakers, like Bet Fred, had already paid out on Leicester’s title win last month.
