- UltimateBet.net continues to build strong ties with the explosively popular world of Mixed Martial Arts ("MMA"), as the leading free play online poker site debuts as Premium Presenting Sponsor of Rogers Sportsnet's newest weekly sports show, MMA Connected.

The first episode of MMA Connected Presented by UltimateBet.net aired Monday, April 20 on Sportsnet East and Sportsnet Ontario at 11:30 p.m. (ET), Sportsnet West at 12:00 p.m. (MT) and Sportsnet Pacific at 8:30 p.m. (PT). New shows will premiere each Monday night and be repeated each Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with a series run of 26-weeks. Sportsnet, Canada's live-event sports leader, has a strong MMA roster that boasts broadcasts of "The Ultimate Fighter" and "Ultimate Fight Night" programming.

The weekly magazine style program will feature and preview upcoming UFC Pay-Per-Views,  with host "Showdown" Joe Ferraro serving up all the latest news, previews and reviews from around the Octagon, including fighter profiles and analysis.

The MMA Connected title sponsorship will see UltimateBet.net receive exclusive exposure via ‘in-program' promotional spots during the telecast of the show, on air mentions by the program hosts, plus high visibility for the brand with the company logo incorporated into the program set design.

Amongst a range of added benefits to the brand, UltimateBet.net also undertakes the sponsorship of MMA Connected Online as part of the package, which involves "Showdown" Joe's weekly column in the MMA section of Sportsnet.ca, as well as the 5 minute MMA Connected webisodes streamed online each week.

The announcement of UltimateBet.net's Presenting Sponsorship of the Monday night program featuring ‘fight-fest' insight and interviews, augments an already steely resolve demonstrated by the online poker site in recent weeks to muscle in on the appeal of Mixed Martial Arts and its growing global audience of sports fans.

The partnering of UltimateBet.net  with MMA Connected follows quick on the heels of the leading online poker site's sponsorship agreement with Ultimate Fighting Championship®("UFC®") , which saw the UB logo have its second outing in the Octagon at the UFC®97 event in Montreal, Canada on April 18, 2009.

UltimateBet first developed a taste for UFC® and MMA with their inaugural UFC® deal, the April 1 sponsorship of welterweight fighter Martin Kampmann, who emerged victorious in his Nashville clash up against submission specialist Carlos "Natural Born Killer" Condit.

Tune into MMA Connected Presented by UltimateBet.net every Monday night and log on to sportsnet.ca for all the highlights, breaking news and inside stories from the MMA.
