You can bet the Cubs-Brewers series for Thursday through Sunday with the understanding that the price on Chicago will be mighty high throughout this series for a visiting club but may be worth it knowing the past history between these two sides.

Chicago is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings in Milwaukee and they are 22-7 in the last 29 meetings.  The last five games played in Milwaukee in this series stayed UNDER 7.5.

Probable Starting Pitchers

J Hamel (5-0, 1.77) vs. J Guerra (2-0, 4.00)

Thursday - Jason Hammel (5-0) allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits while walking two and striking out eight over 6.2 innings of a 9-4 win over Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon. (Fri May 13).  It is pretty surprising that five of six of Hammel’s last starts have resulted in 9 or more runs.

That being said, these are two solid starters playing in a series that has strong UNDER trending in Milwaukee.  Keep in mind that Junior Guerra allowed zero runs his last start in a win against San Diego pitching into the 6th inning.

Hammel is 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA in six starts at Miller Park.

The Brewers are 2-6 in their last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter.

The UNDER is 5-1 in Milwaukee’s last 6 home games.
