Regarding climate change, Root suggested that you can’t have good climate change legislation and good paying jobs.

When host Bill Maher attempted to explain that there are more jobs today with solar energy as compared with coal mining, Root affirmed that these are “low paying jobs”.

“Low paying jobs in solar?” Maher questioned in a sarcastic tone.  “As opposed to great paying jobs going into a mine.”

“(You) are killing the middle class people,” Root said. “It is raising energy rates to a point that no middle class person can afford.”

Root then went on to read a “Libertarian study” conducted in Spain whereby, for every one clean energy job created, three were lost.

“I haven’t read that study,” Maher said.  “It sounds like bullshit.”

In regard to Donald Trump’s “War for Coal”, Maher noted that Trump, while campaigning in West Virginia, balked at the notion that US citizens are not allowed to use hairspray anymore because it affects the ozone.

“He (Trump) is basing his environmental policy on what it does to his hair?”

Hilarious to watch below.
