Antigua-based Intertops had advised its customers last week they were not allowing Bitcoin, the anonymous digital currency, as a payment withdrawal option but advised Gambling911.com on Wednesday Bitcoin withdrawals are now being reinstated.

"We are glad to announce that we expect bitcoin payouts to be up again in the next 24 hours. We had to experience some technical issues, but were able to sort these issues out," an Intertops spokesperson informed G911.

Bitcoin has become a common and quite popular method of depositing funds and receiving withdrawals to and from online gambling sites over the past year after some early resistance.  For some online gambling sites, particularly those that cater to North Americans, Bitcoin now accounts for more than a quarter of all deposits and withdrawals.  The method often allows for payouts to be made within a matter of minutes no matter time of day or day of week (though this process varies).

Intertops has been offering Bitcoin since December 2015.
