Bet the Marlins-Mets Series – July 4-6
You can bet the Marlins-Mets series Monday through Wednesday with Game One featuring a line of -150 on the Mets and +160 on the Marlins. The total was posted at 7.5.
The Mets have won three of the last four in the series but more importantly, three of the last four games played in New York in the series resulted in six or fewer runs. Two of three previous starts in New York resulted in seven or fewer runs.
The Mets are 2-6 in Matt Harvey’s last 8 starts vs. Miami but Harvey is averaging .169 against this Marlins roster, allowing just 21 hits on 124 at bats with only one home run over this period.
He’s a -150 favorite at BetOnline, making this a decent play to bet on there. The price does get steeper elsewhere at -160.
For DFS players his salary was at $6500 though we anticipate a climb for this game that should still be worth the value.
Harvey has allowed 9 runs over his last 35 innings starting.
Harvey (4-10) pitched just 3.2 innings before seeing his night cut short by a rain delay Tuesday against the Nationals, but still picked up the loss after allowing one run on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts over that time.
Prior to Tom Koehler’s last two starts, he had not allowed more than three runs in his previous eight starts.
The Mets are 22-4 in their last 26 Monday games.
Because the OVER is 8-0 in the Marlins last 8 overall and 5-2 in Koehler’s last 7 starts overall and 7-0-1 in his last 8 starts vs. Mets., we are more inclined to go with the METS -150
