Bet the Nationals-Rockies Series August 14-16
You can bet the Nationals-Rockies series Monday through Wednesday online.
What Are The Lines: Monday’s game featured a line of +150 Colorado, -170 Washington and a low total (by Colorado standards) of 10.
What We Like: Sure it’s Colorado but any game that features Max Scherzer starting with a total of 10 you gotta be thinking about the UNDER especially with Colorado is 7-2 in Jorge De La Rosas last 9 starts vs. Washington.
The Nats are 7-3 in their last ten overall versus a club that has lost eight of their last ten overall.
Washington has won four of their last six games in Colorado.
Stephen Strasburg, starting for Washington on Wednesday, has permitted just 17 hits on 88 at bats versus the current Rockies starters with only two home runs.
Strasburg is winless in his last two, both poor outings. The Rockies offer the perfect medicine here. In Six of his last ten starts Strasburg has permitted no more than a single run or less.
Jon Grey is also coming off of two winless starts, for which he got pummeled. Like with Strasburg, Grey had pitched well previous to this bad stretch, allowing just two runs in 26 innings pitched over four games.
We do like the UNDER Wednesday if 8 or higher, which that number likely will be.
What We Don’t Like: It’s what we like that we don’t like. Both Strasburg and Grey have allowed a lot of runs in their last two starts.
Strasburg may be the better pitcher Wednesday on the better team but he’ll be priced too high.
Washington has scored 5 or more in seven of their last 10 starts. This will likely keep the posted total high on Wednesday with Strasburg and Grey.
Games in Colorado tend to go OVER in a Wednesday matchup that otherwise suggests an UNDER total.
