Derrick Antonio, a veteran of the San Jose, California Police Department, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly leading sensitive information to Vietnamese gang members who operated an illegal gambling ring.

According to the Mercury News, San Jose police said a criminal conspiracy investigation -- dubbed Operation: Gang of Thrones -- was launched in March and culminated Tuesday in the arrests of multiple suspects, including Antonio.

In addition to gambling, the gang is also alleged to have engaged in extortion and assault. They would operate out of area Vietnamese cafés and routinely extort the owners.

Antonio was placed on leave about two months ago when allegations first surfaced.  He has been charged with five counts of unauthorized computer access and one count of accessory after the fact and remains in jail.

Police were expected to hold a news conference Wednesday with additional details.
