Odds to Win the AFC South Division 2016 – Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars odds of winning the AFC South division in 2016 were set at +350 for a potential payout of $350 on every $100 bet or $35 for every $10 bet. This represents the shortest odds for Jacksonville entering a season in years. The Jaguars are favored to land on the .500 mark by season’s end.
The Jaguars enter the season as an underdog in 15 of 16 predetermined games in 2016. If the oddsmakers are correct that they can win eight games, we’re looking at the potential for Jacksonville to walk away with a record well above the .500 mark Against The Spread. The Jaguars did cover two more games than they won outright last season.

The Jaguars won just five games in 2015, but it was definitely a positive year because Blake Bortles took a huge step toward becoming a franchise quarterback.
The Jaguars have been one of the worst teams in the NFL for quite a while now, but that's beginning to change. Blake Bortles is progressing nicely; the offense has some dynamic play-makers; and the defense will be much better in 2016. Eight wins is certainly very possible, and a potential playoff appearance is not out of the question.
Eric Eager of Football Focus looked more closely at the comparison between Blake Bortels and Derek Carr, determining that Bortels perceived improvement and higher achievement that Carr in his second year was just that, perceived.
Indeed, while Bortles went from being the lowest-graded quarterback in the league in 2014 to the 14th last season in cumulative grading, as a passer, he still finished with a negative grade. His PFF QB rating was 29th in the league (83.17) in 2015, while his adjusted completion percentage (70.0) ranked 32nd. The Raiders’ Carr finished 13th and 21st in those same categories, respectively. In 2016, the Jaguars are surely hoping that Bortles’ quality of play continues to improve, eventually matching or exceeding the level of his fantasy statistics (4,428 yards, 35 touchdowns) from last season. If these improvements occur, Bortles—and Jacksonville’s offense in general—should be pushing the boundaries of the league’s upper echelon over the next few years.
