Odds to Win the AFC West Division 2016 – Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders odds of winning the AFC West division in 2016 were set at +250, putting them right up there in the thick of things with both favorites Kansas City and Denver.
Tuesday morning former Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden and the ESPN Monday Night Football crew discussed the prospects that team’s high expectations coming into 2016.
“Well I think everything you see about the Raiders, this is a year for them to take a giant step forward,” said Gruden. “They’ve got some good players in place, [Head] Coach [Jack] Del Rio has done a nice job obviously. Look, Derek Carr has got some weapons, you have to love [Amari] Cooper, you got to like [Michael] Crabtree, and I think [Clive] Walford is coming on.”
Athlon offered up this synopsis of the Raiders:
The Raiders won’t sneak up on anyone this year. If they can handle life in the spotlight, they have enough talent to end their 14-year playoff drought. They play three of their first four games on the road, including trips to New Orleans and Baltimore, and it will be crucial for them to get through that stretch without too much damage.
The Raiders were at 30-1 odds to win the Super Bowl.
