Odds to Win the ACC Atlantic 2016: Clemson
The odds of winning the ACC Atlantic 2016 belong entirely to Clemson and FSU, both at slightly better than EVEN odds (+110 and +140, respectively).
The Tigers are home to arguably the best quarterback in college football, Campus Insiders suggests. And that would be Deshaun Watson.
After averaging 38.5 points per game in 2015, the Tigers will be every bit as potent this fall. While it all begins with Watson, a dynamic all-around playmaker, he’s also supported by one of the premier skill position ensembles in America.
Running back Wayne Gallman is still somewhat unheralded, even after rushing for 1,527 yards. The receiving corps is also scary-good now that Mike Williams is healthy, Deon Cain has been reinstated from a spring suspension and tight end Jordan Leggett returns for a senior season.
Clemson had the second shortest odds of winning the National Championship at +650. Florida State had the 4th shortest odds at +850.
Athlon Sports writes of FSU’s success:
To understand just how much talent Jimbo Fisher has ushered into Florida State’s locker room during the first six years of his tenure, one needs only consider this simple fact: The Seminoles are coming off of a rebuilding year that saw them go 10–3 and earn a coveted spot in a New Year’s Six bowl. Did we mention that it was a rebuilding year?
Florida State returns nine starters on offense and six on defense.
