Bet the Giants-Cubs Series September 2-4
You can bet the Giants-Cubs series Friday through Sunday. The Cubs were at -240 Friday with San Francisco +200 and a total set at 8.
FRIDAY’S PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants RH Albert Suarez (3-2, 4.35 ERA) vs. Cubs LH Jon Lester (14-4, 2.70)
Suarez worked three perfect frames of relief against the Cubs in a lopsided loss on May 20 in San Francisco.
Lester is 5-0 with a 2.01 ERA in eight starts since the All-Star break. He is 3-1 with a 2.67 ERA in four starts against the Giants.
On Saturday, Madison Bumgarner starts for San Francisco coming off a solid win versus Atlanta. He’s allowed just 32 hits off of 147 at bats versus the current Cubs hitters with only two home runs permitted. Six of his last ten starts have resulted in eight or fewer runs total scored.
Jake Arrieta will start Saturday for Chicago. He’s allowed just 20 hits on 89 at bats versus the current Giants roster.
Arrieta allowed six runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Pirates.
We would say go with the UNDER here if 7 or higher.
