"If poker don't get started pretty soon, i'm going to be in the bread line at the Salvation army," Doyle Brunson declared on his Twitter page this weekend.

Don't despair.  The online poker room that bares his name - Doylesroom.com - is doing especially well these days.

But stuck with a major dental bill and having gone 3-28 betting the NBA Playoffs, Brunson might have to start eating in and stop flying first class until he starts taking part in some more poker tournaments.

"My bookmaker is retiring to Hawaii with two super models," he said. "He could start his own colony and use my money only!"

Total poker live tournament career winnings to date for Brunson are $5,131,486.  Of course, Brunson started playing poker when a good Texas steak only cost 39 cents.

On average the past three years, Doyle Brunson has made a comfortable $200,000 plus annually just from live poker tournaments.  So far this year, he has won nothing.

Brunson additionally reaps the rewards from his own online poker room.

"He's not broke, he's just bored," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.  "He should probably stop betting basketball though, or post his picks so we can all fade them."
