Bookies Make Up Ground Monday Night With Bears Win, Cover

The bookies struggled Sunday with an early cover and outright win by New England, followed by the Raiders overtime win in Tampa Bay capped off by the Cowboys come-from-behind victory Sunday night against the Eagles.

Things went their way Monday night, however, with the Bears surprise win over Minnesota.  The Vikings had been seeing close to 70 percent of the betting action with books offering an enticement to continue wagering on Minnesota via their lackluster line movement.

The books did have a banner weekend with College Football as two heavily wagered on sides – Navy and Baylor – failed to cover.  In the case of the Midshipmen, an earlier line did go in their favor for bettors but nearly 100 percent of the money line wagers were on Navy.

Early volume on the Week 9 games had Atlanta seeing heavy action on the -3.5 spread.
