Jerry Hollendorfer, 70, has guided Songbird through two seasons of perfection with 11 victories in 11 starts.
Her 6-furlong workout in 1:12.80 on Oct. 20 was the fastest of 13.
“It’s partially the way she’s made,” Hollendorfer said. “She’s made well, with good conformation, and she gets over the ground easily. She’s very good mentally; she handles things well, and not all horses do.”
