Vikings Plane Incident has Little Effect on Betting Line But…
It was revealed Saturday morning that the Minnesota Vikings plane had skid off the runway Friday, leaving the team stuck on board for several hours.
While no injuries were reported, incidents like these tend to weigh on one’s psyche, not to mention the wasted hours ahead of Saturday’s big game.
To be clear, the Vikings have little to play for but pride as Green Bay hopes to stamp its ticket into the Playoffs with a little help from Detroit playing in Dallas Monday night.
The accident occurred at around 5:10pm local time. Snow was the likely culprit.
The team were left on the place for around three hours, but were eventually helped down, along with other passengers.
The Vikings organization tweeted:
'While taxiing after a safe landing, the team plane slid off the runway and became stuck,' an official tweet said about an hour after the incident.
'We are waiting patiently to exit the plane.'
Oddsmakers have determined the incident will have little impact on today’s play or at least not enough to cross over the dreaded 7 point threshold.
The Vikings will luck out somewhat with temperatures expected to be above freezing during the game, or in Green Bay terms this time of year – “spring like”. There could even be some sunshine. Early forecasts called for snow and much colder temperatures.
