Bookies Crushed by Patriots Win

The bookies were left mortified again following a Patriots outright win and cover of a 15.5 spread.

This hardly came as a shock to the sportsbooks.  Everyone and their mother expected New England would win this game.  That being said, throughout much of the game it appeared as if Houston could actually cover the heavy spread.

According to Dave Mason of Betonline, had the Texans won, this would have been the “biggest single game winner (non Super Bowl) in history of company”.

The extremely high price on the money line deterred most of the betting public from wagering on New England to win outright but 79 percent of the cash was on the Pats, according to Mason.

The game also went OVER the total of 44.5, though the total action was relatively balanced.
