Assassin of North Korean Leader Brother Thought She was Part of Comedy Show

A woman arrested in the slaying of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's half brother at Malaysia’s international airport thought she was part of a comedy show prank, Indonesia's police chief said Friday.

Kim Jong Nam was murdered in Kuala Lumpur on Monday en route to the gambling epicenter of Macau.

Tito Karnavian told the Associated Press that Siti Aisyah, 25, received payment to be part of a prank for a popular comedy TV show, Just For Laughs Gags Asia.

The police chief added that she and another woman carried out stunts that persuade men to close their eyes and then spray them with water.

"Such an action was done three or four times and they were given a few dollars for it, and with the last target, Kim Jong Nam, allegedly there were dangerous materials in the sprayer," Karnavian told the AP.

"She was not aware that it was an assassination attempt by alleged foreign agents," he said.

North Korea Won’t Accept Malaysia Autopsy Results

(Reuters) - North Korea said it would "categorically reject" the post mortem conducted by Malaysia on one of its citizens who died in Kuala Lumpur this week, and demanded the body be released immediately.

Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, was murdered in Kuala Lumpur on Monday. His autopsy is being performed at a hospital in the capital city.

"The Malaysian side forced the post mortem without our permission and witnessing, we will categorically reject the result of the post mortem conducted unilaterally excluding our attendance," the North Korean ambassador Kang Chol said in a statement read to the media outside the hospital late on Friday.

His statement made no reference to the identity of the North Korean who died.
