The Wichita Eagle has filed a federal court motion requesting information on the FBI wiretapping of local city businessmen including a big name poker pro.

Brandon Steven, who has one a few million on the live poker circuit, confirmed to the Wichita Eagle last month that he is the subject of a federal inquiry related to poker and his attempt to open a state casino.  The FBI notified that Steven and other local businessmen, including his brother Rodney Steven, had their phones tapped.  Steven’s family owns car dealerships in Wichita.

The Wichita Eagle filed the motion immediately after learning of the probe.  The FBI responded on Tuesday, claiming that releasing the wiretap information jeopardizes its investigation.

The U.S. Attorney's office says releasing the would jeopardize the investigation and interfere with the privacy of people who are not the target of the investigation.
