The Masters 2017 Round 3 betting odds were released shortly after Friday’s play with Charley Hoffman still among the top of the pack.

Hoffman continued his strong performance as he did after Round One.

CBS Sports writes of Hoffman’s dominance these past two days:

A 65-75 looks strange on the card, but Hoffman has to be happy where he’s at right now. He started strong and finished strong but just seemed to lose it there in the middle of the round. Maybe it was Augusta striking back, maybe it was the impact of the moment, but five bogeys in six holes brought the rest of the field into play. The good news is that once settled, Hoffman finished with one birdie and six pars on the final seven holes.

His odds were set at 11/2.  That’s a far cry from the 125-1 odds that were being offered coming into this year’s Masters tournament.

Sergio Garcia crept into the number two spot on the leaderboard.  His odds were a generous 15/1.

“Things are happening at the moment,” Garcia said after his 3-under-par 69 finish Frida. “So I want to make sure that I keep riding that wave.”

Thomas Pietters and Rickie Fowler were both being priced aggressively even being part of the four-way tie on the leaderboard coming into Saturday.

Rickie Fowler excels in four-way tie atop Masters leaderboard

Fowler would pay out $2000 for every $100 bet, Pietters would pay out $5000.

Fifteen players were separated by a mere five shots going into the weekend, a group that includes Adam Scott and Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson, and even 57-year-old Fred Couples.

"I knew the first two days would be tough. We really needed to make sure we could fight through it and stay in the tournament," Fowler said. "We're in a good spot. It's going to be a fun weekend. We're going to see a lot of good golf and battle it out."

Rory McIlroy continues to hold strong as the second biggest favorite with oddsmakers despite once again failing to make the top ten cut.
