Paddy Power Seeks ‘Trump Expert’
Expect tons more betting props on US President Donald Trump at Ireland’s largest bookmaker Paddy Power.
The betting firm is seeking a “Trump Expert” to help develop its growing market on the Donald Trump administration.
Exotic odds were already being offered on whether Trump will paint the White House gold (500-1) and whether Obamacare will survive his first term in office. There were even odds on whether any of the US states secede during his Presidency.
British and Irish betting houses accepted about £230 million ($286 million) in bets related to the U.S. election last year, making it the biggest non-sports event in industry history.
Paddy Power lost a total of $5 million on the upset victory by Trump, a good chunk of which was paid out on Hillary Clinton’s “win” ahead of Election Day. Paddy was so convinced that Trump could not win.
"The job is to be an expert in all things Trump," said Paddy Power representative, Lee Price. "In the spirit of Donald Trump's presidency, we're saying no experience required."
