2017 Kentucky Derby Predictions: Thunder Snow
Recent history of international runners in this race says no, but this Derby looks open and Thunder Snow has grit. Don’t leave him out of the exotics, suggests John Clay and Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald Leader. His odds were at 26-1. Scroll down for the latest odds
Marcus Armytage, Racing Correspondent for the Telegraph, believes that Thunder Snow is in peak form ahead of Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.
The colt has already shown remarkable versatility in that he is a Group One winner of last year’s Grand Criterium at Saint-Cloud on turf and the Group Two UAE Derby on dirt at the Dubai World Cup meeting in March.
Thunder Snow is already settled in at the track and he will be ridden by Christophe Soumilion, who was at his strongest to get the Helmet colt home by a short-head from the Japanese runner Epicharis in the UAE Derby and is unbeaten in three starts on the horse.
