Odds on Who Will be the Next FBI Director: Bet on Who Replaces James Comey

With the news that James Comey has been relieved of his duties at the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), BetOnline was fast to release odds one who will be named the next FBI Director.  These odds will be updated regularly. 

President Donald Trump abruptly fired FBI Director James Comey Tuesday, claiming the firing was necessary to restore “public trust and confidence” in the FBI.

Comey was speaking to agents at the FBI’s field office in Los Angeles when the news of his firing flashed on TV screens, according to a law enforcement official who was there. Comey initially chuckled, then finished his speech, said the official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the official wasn’t authorized to discuss the situation publicly.

Comey later left on a plane to return to Washington.

Mike Rogers was the early favorite at 5-1 odds with the potential to pay out $50 for every $10 bet.

Ray Kelly had the second shortest odds at 6-1.  By May 13, Kelly's odds had been slashed to +450 or 4.5/1. 

Trey Gowdy had odds of 5/1 as of May 13 while John Cornyn was coming in at 8/1 odds.  Cornyn had not been among the names offered by BetOnline for betting earlier in the week.  Odds on Cornyn were only released Saturday after it was revealed Trump would be meeting with the Texas Senator over the weekend.
