Arguably two of the most hated men in poker, Chris Ferguson and Howard Lederer, raised eyebrows upon entering the 2017 WSOP $1k Tag Team event.
Both men in 2011 were implicated in an elaborate ponzi scheme tied to Full Tilt Poker. That only poker site and three others were named in an April 15, 2011 indictment that would later be dubbed “Black Friday”, alluding to the day of the week in which the charges were handed down.
Lederer has since taken responsibility for his actions.
“I take full responsibility for Full Tilt’s failure to protect player deposits leading up to Black Friday,” he said in a statement issued five years after the indictment.
Ferguson has said little about the matter.
