Songbird Wins Ogden Phipps: What’s Next for Her?

The star of this year’s Belmont, albeit she wasn’t racing in the third leg of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes, Songbird won this year’s Ogden Phipps.

The fine folks at the Daily Racing Form suggested her win wasn’t entirely convincing considering the 1/2 odds she came in with.

“But you never had the sense she was going to lose,” Dan Illman of DRF said.

“I did!” DRF’s Matt Bernier was quick to interject.

Her comeback follows last November’s Breeders’ Cup Distaff loss following 11 straight victories.

Songbird was expected to race this November in the Breeders Cup Distaff.
