Bobby Baldwin Severely Injured at Aria After Falling Two Flights of Stairs: In Good Spirits
Professional poker player and casino executive Bobby Baldwin, 67, was severely injured at the Aria Resort and Casino in Vegas Saturday afternoon.
Doyle Brunson tweeted out:
Bobby Baldwin slipped and feel [sic] down two flights of stairs today at the Aria. Broke shoulders, pelvis, ribs and severe head
On Sunday, Baldwin's prognosis for recovery appeared good.
Poker pro and friend Jean-Robert Bellande tweeted out that he had spoken to Baldwin, who confirmed he underwent successful elbow surgery.
No life-threatening injuries. He's in good spirits..no golf for a while
As a poker player, Baldwin is best known as the winner of the 1978 World Series of Poker Main Event, becoming the youngest Main Event champion at that time.
Baldwin would later become a consultant for the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas and then CEO of the Mirage.
