*Blue Jays-Tigers – The UNDER 9.5 is certainly tempting here.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays LH Francisco Liriano (5-4, 5.56 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Michael Fulmer (9-6, 3.19)
Lorraine is seeking his second straight win after topping Houston on July 6. He held the Astros to three runs in six innings for just his fourth quality start of the year. He is 6-10 with a 5.26 ERA in 27 games (20 starts) against Detroit.
Fulmer entered the break tied for the American League lead with 15 quality starts and he has won three straight outings.
The OVER is 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings in Detroit.
We would be careful with this one and hold back on betting.
*Rockies-Mets –We got slaughtered with our UNDER on the Rockies-Mets last night but the UNDER is 13-4 with a high enough total of 9. Six of the last nine in this series have gone UNDER that total.
The Rockies are 2-10 in their last 12 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Mets are 2-5 in their last 7 games vs. a right-handed starter.
PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Tyler Chatwood (6-10, 4.42 ERA) vs. Mets RH Seth Lugo (3-2, 4.59)
Chatwood continued to struggle with his command and dropped his third consecutive start Thursday against Cincinnati, giving up three runs on eight hits and four walks in six frames. He should be hungry for a victory here, especially since he is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA in five starts against the Mets.
Lugo will pitch at home for only the second time in seven games (six starts) Saturday and looks to improve on a shaky outing to open to July after going 3-1 with a 3.55 ERA in June.
The UNDER is 8-1-3 in Chatwood’s last 12 starts overall.
