Padraig Harrington has won the last two British Open Championships and, not surprisingly, the Irishman is among the favorites to win the 2009 US Open.  His US Open betting odds were listed at +2500 for a payout potential of US$2500 on every US$100 bet at SBG Global.  It should be noted that Padraig Harrington would pay out US$4000 for every US$100 bet at Sportingbet.com where we anticipate a lot of gamblers from the UK placing their wagers.  Sportingbet does not accept US customers at this time unfortunately.

In addition to his two big British Open wins in 2007 and 2008, respectively, Harrington also won last year's PGA Championship.

We at Gambling911.com don't have to tell our readers just how good Harrington is.

Triple major champion Padraig Harrington won the inaugural European Tour Players' Player of the Year Award for 2008 last month.

"I am deeply honoured to be recognised by my fellow European Tour professionals who have been worthy competitors on the world's fairways and good friends off the course," said Harrington as he picked up the salver.

"I am sure the Players' Player Award will go from strength to strength and to be named as the first winner is very special indeed."

Harrington has been brutal to the UK bookmakers over the past two years of the British Open, especially those based out of Ireland.  Overall losses for the bookies were in the millions both years.
