Online Poker Room to Begin Offering Ethereum

In an exclusive interview with Americas Cardroom, a spokesperson for the world’s 5th largest online poker room revealed the site is set to begin offering Ethereum to compliment Bitcoin and other anonymous digital currencies.

“This should be implemented in the coming weeks,” the ACR spokesperson tells Gambling911.com, adding that they are also looking into Litecoin and potentially other crypto-currencies.

The demand is definitely there.  Americas Cardroom confirmed that some 40 percent of customer transactions are now done through Bitcoin.

Ethereum, initially released in July of 2015, is an open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform in smart contract (scripting) form (functionality), which facilitates online contractual agreements.

With Ethereum, every time a program is used, a network of thousands of computers processes it. Contracts written in a smart contract-specific programming languages are compiled into 'bytecode', which a feature called the 'ethereum virtual machine' (EVM) can read and execute.

Though that may sound like a lot of tech jargon, Ethereum is catching on in a big way with many spectators believing it could some day be more important than Bitcoin.

Further announcements regarding Americas Cardroom will be forthcoming
