The so-called "Craigslist Killer", 23-year-old upstate New York native, Philip Markoff, was arraigned in a Suffolk County Court on Monday where he plead not guilty to first-degree murder of a masseuse he met on the online classifieds website.

Prosecutors say Markoff lured Julissa Brisman of New York City to a Boston hotel in April after she advertised in the "exotic services" section on Craigslist.  Markoff is accused of binding Brisman during a violent struggle then shooting her in the chest.

In addition, Markoff plead not guilty to the armed robbery of a Las Vegas woman at another Boston hotel. He's also accused in an April attack on a woman in Warwick, R.I.

Reports suggest that Markoff gambled all night at the Foxwoods Casino just two nights after the murder of Brisman.

Police initially believed that the motive in the murder and robberies related to Markoff's mounting gambling debts.
