eSports Markets Still Limited at Online Betting Firms

Wagering companies like Bookmaker.eu recently hired a handful of experts to boost their eSports market offerings, but eSports Insider would like to see more across the board.

The European bookmakers have been ahead of the curb when it comes to eSports betting, but even they are lacking.

For the matches beginning tomorrow and Sunday, the offering is not disappointing. With markets we’ve become familiar with such as “Race to 10 kills”, “First Baron Slain” and “First Inhibitor Destroyed” still featuring prominently across a multitude of bookmakers there’s no shortage of markets for those who want to have a bet in advance.

The gripe here, and it may be petty, is the lack of operators offering a market on “outright winner” of the entire tournament. Every bookmaker will offer outright odds on the World Cup winner, or the Champions League winner throughout the season even as competition progresses and that’s arguably the way it should be.

Only two European bookmakers - Bet365 and Sky Bet – were offering outright markets on this weekend’s matches as of Friday morning.
