Books Make a Killing Sunday Week 6 Early Games

The books went 3-0 versus the sports bettors early Sunday, winning big with Minnesota, New York (Jets) and Miami.  In the end, 10 of 11 games went in favor of the books.

The Patriots earned a controversial wins against the Jets but failed to cover the -9 point spread.

From NY Jet Fuel:

During the fourth quarter of New York’s 24-17 loss to the New England Patriots, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins appeared to have scored his second touchdown of the game. He hauled in a short pass and dove for the pylon, seemingly scoring a touchdown to trim the deficit to seven. The referees initially ruled it a touchdown.

After a video review — which was presumed to be about the spot of the ball — the officials stated that Seferian-Jenkins fumbled the ball out of the end zone and the Patriots would earn possession after a touchback.

That call had little negative impact on gamblers with the exception perhaps of those who had New York in a teaser.

Minnesota beat Green Bay following an injury to Aaron Rodgers early in the game.  Rodgers was determined to have suffered a collarbone injury and could potentially be out for the season.

Green Bay was the most wagered on side at near 80% heading into Week 6.

Elsewhere, Atlanta lost to Miami after shutting them out in the first half.  They were a big favorite at home and received around 70% of the support from gamblers.

The betting public did have a win of sorts with around 60% of those backing New Orleans, who dismantled Detroit.

The betting on tonight's Falcons-Packers game is interesting because the public clearly prefers Green Bay, but some of the larger spread money is showing up on Atlanta.
