The Empowerment of Women Comes to Sigma; Start Up Pitch Booth Introduced
The Summit of iGaming Malta, better known as SiGMA, is set to start next week with everyone who is anyone in online gambling slated to attend, and, yes, Gambling911.com will be there covering it all.
The pride and joy of G911 Europe is LiveCasino.com, who will be exhibiting along with many of their fellow colleagues based out of beautiful Malta, now the largest iGaming jurisdiction in the world bar none.
Even if you’re not yet operational but wish to participate in the explosive Web gambling sector, there’s a place for you as well at the “start up” booth.
Following a successful first run in 2016, SiGMA’17 is coming back with the Startup Pitch where hundred startup companies will get a free booth at SiGMA, invitations to networking events and SiGMA PR, John Wright of GAFFG reports.
The concept will have only ten startups shortlisted to make it to the final. Ten finalists will have a chance to take their business to the next level and get themselves in front of seven investors to master the three-minute pitch.

Tina Thakor-Rankin and Kelly Kehn bring their “All-In Diversity Project” to this year’s big show.
“We are not about telling business what to do”, Thakor-Rankin explained.

“We are about assessing the current state of the sector and providing a central source of data, information, resources and support for those businesses who want to ensure that they have a workplace for the 21st century which attracts and retains the employees and customers of the future”, she said.
“I think as a western society, we are at a tipping point. You can see it everywhere. People have a voice and they are using it – sometimes for good, sometimes not. So much of what we learn and believe these days comes from opinions from the loudest voices”, Kehn added.
Liggero, who got her first big break in the online gambling industry working for the directory site CasinoCity.com, offered up her own personal assessment of the sector.
“As a female who has been working in the gambling industry since 2005, I can confirm the male-dominated nature of the industry has not budged an inch in 12 years, yet we are always talking about the skewed ratio of women to men at industry gatherings and events.
The irony in all of this is that the first ever i-Gaming conference to capture the imagination of a mostly male dominated group of operators was the brain child of a woman, Sue Schneider, founder of the Global Interactive Gaming Summit for Executives (better known as GIGSE).
