An 82-year-old gangster, who was the subject of the popular mob film “Goodfellas” is looking at 15 years behind bars if convicted of ordering a hit on a man who cut him off on the highway by firebombing his car.

Vincent Asaro was acquitted two years ago for his alleged role in the infamous $6 million 1978 Lufthansa heist.

Prosecutors said that although Asaro has “participated in racketeering, murder, robbery, extortion, loansharking, gambling and other illegal conduct, he has served less than eight years in jail.”

While prosecutors want a 15 year sentence, auto vehicle arson charges typically net no more than six years.

In June, Asaro pleaded guilty to directing the 2012 Queens arson.
