2018 World Cup Group D Betting Odds: Argentina, Croatia, Nigeria, Iceland

The 2018 FIFA World Cup draw took place Friday with Group D teams selected including long time power house Argentina, along with Croatia, Nigeria and Iceland.

Not surprisingly, half the betting action was on the favorite Argentina at 1/2 odds.

Croatia had short 5/2 odds, Nigeria 10/1 and Iceland 12/1 odds.

Iceland will likely end up as a sentimental favorite here being that they are the country with the smallest population to ever qualify. They, along with Croatia, were seeing 25% of the early action.

Nigeria simply wasn’t getting much love early on.

Rory Smith of the New York Times referred to this group as “probably the most delicately balanced, most interesting, and most competitive of all the groups”.
