Americas Cardroom Takes Crown With World’s Biggest Weekly Tourney
Look out, Americas Cardroom ushering in the New Year in a major, major way. We’re talking about a Sunday Major that’s bigger and better than what’s currently being offered to poker players around the world. 
On January 7th, 2018, Americas Cardroom will be launching their new $1,000,001 guaranteed weekly tourney (2pm ET). That’s a buck larger than what the competition offers. And even if they were to match us, they are still the home of the biggest Sunday Major open to US poker players.
If you’ve played at ACR before, you know that Million Dollar Sundays are a regular part of their schedule. While they aren’t a weekly occurrence, ACR has hosted them several times a year.

“And in October 2017, we hosted three in a span of two weeks, two of which fell on the same day. Typically, our Million Dollar Sundays cost $540 to get into, but during that doubleheader, we offered one for $265 (finishing with a $1,092,000 prize pool).
“We’ve decided to go with that lower buy-in for our $1,000,001 weekly tourney to make them more affordable for everyone. And if that’s still a little too expensive, but you’re craving that ‘One Time’, there are regular and mega satellites to help you get into each tourney for far less.
“Now, about that extra dollar. It’s not just about outdoing the current industry leader. It’s about having a little fun too. Million-dollar tourneys tend to get a little heated, so we wanted to add some humor to the mix. If you bubble the tournament, that dollar is yours. We guess that’s amusing for everyone watching and a little brutal for the bubble boy or girl. But hey, it’s all in good-natured fun!”
